Johnny
Karwan is a San Francisco-based artist and designer with a passion for all
things natural, simple, colorful and exotic.
A graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute and a professional artist of
over thirty years, Johnny Karwan has created an enormous body of work that
has ranged broadly across a wide and diverse array of sizes and media.
The artist's work has ranged from tropical airport banners to monumental
murals of twenty foot high sunflowers, to elaborately painted background
scenes for animated films and television and, of course, to broad
commercial and licensed applications. His beautiful works of
assemblage have been exhibited in prestigious galleries and museums.
Recently the artist has focused his attention on creating designs which
depict the natural themes of birds, bugs, fruits, flowers and sea life,
all of them unique, colorful, vibrant and appealing.
The artist has licensed his work on an array of products including
greeting cards, paper products, ceramics, needlecraft, journals and
diaries, apparel, fabrics and fine art prints.
Porterfield's Fine Art Licensing is delighted to be able to represent an
artist and designer of this magnitude and stature into the fields of
internal and external home decor and furnishings, home fabrics of all
types, prints and wall decor, stationery and paper goods, and any products
that require bright, bold, colorful and intensely decorative works of
beauty.
