"Decorating the
Christmas Tree"
by Christine Graf
Christine
Graf is a distinguished artist and designer who brings a fresh, novel
approach to her stylized flowers, scenics, garden settings, pastorals, and
depictions of the natural world. Although inspired by traditional
themes, she uses them as a launching point for a very 21st-century
approach which has brought her considerable attention in recent years.
Her artwork has been published and distributed broadly, and she has
licensed her work into a wide variety of fields from quilting to wall
decor to stationery and well beyond. We are delighted to welcome an
artist of this magnitude to Porterfield's!
Among her many awards and prestigious credits, Christine Graf has been
commissioned by the White House to paint the Easter Egg Event and her
artwork is in the permanent collection of President and Mrs. Reagan as
well as in the Smithsonian Institute.
Although Christine lives in New York City, she is a frequent visitor to
friends and family in rural Vermont and considers that state her second
home. It is in Vermont where she is inspired by the lush countryside
and the peacefulness and beauty of the pastoral life. The sights and
sounds of nature are her spiritual sustenance and it is this innocent
vision she hopes to capture and share with others through her art.
We're delighted to have the opportunity to represent the lovely decorative
Americana art of Christine Graf into the family of fine Porterfield's
artists,
and recommend the artist's work for home fabrics - particularly quilts and woven
products as well as kitchen and dining room fabrics - home decor and
accessories, and all forms of stationery, wall decor and print products.
